According to a statement released on Sunday by a party spokeswoman, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has been elected as the chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) following significant modifications to the party’s organizational structure.
The MQM-P has resurrected the structure with posts for secretary general, vice chairman, and chairman in place of the convener position.
The spokesperson claimed in a statement that Siddiqui was chosen by the central committee to lead the MQM-P.
The development occurred a central committee meeting in Pakistan House, Karachi, presided by Siddiqui.
Top party figures, including Mustafa Kamal, Farooq Sattar, Nasreen Jalil, Anis Qaimkhani, Faisal Sabzwari, Aminul Haque, Rizwan Babar, and others, were present at the meeting, the spokesperson continued.
