A high-level conference was called by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday to review the current state of affairs in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), following the breakdown of negotiations between the protestors and the state government.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed grave worries about the violent altercations between demonstrators and the Azad Jammu and Kashmir police, stating that “absolutely no tolerance for taking the law in one’s own hands” should exist.
The premier addressed X and stated: “Although discussion, debate, and nonviolent protests are the virtues of democracy, there should be zero tolerance for breaking the law and causing damage to government property.”
