Lord Ranger, a former adviser to Boris Johnson, faces a ban from the House of Lords following an examination of his actions.
He has apologised for his actions and given up the whip; therefore, he will have to sit as a non-aligned peer.
According to a statement from the whip’s office, Lord Ranger has resigned as the government whip and apologised for his conduct, which were an inexcusable breach of the House’s and parliament’s standards.
“The committee has recommended a sanction, which should be respected.”
The House of Lords Conduct Committee recommended that Lord Ranger be suspended from the House for three weeks.
