Another Punjabi case of child marriage has been revealed.

In the Kot Nazir neighborhood of Sheikhupura, a five-year-old girl was married to a thirteen-year-old male in a case involving child marriage. On Monday, police detained at least one suspect in the case.

The suspect was reportedly captured during a raid, according to the authorities, and more efforts are being made to apprehend the other suspects connected to the illegitimate marriage.

It is significant to remember that getting married before turning 16 is forbidden in Punjab. Child marriages are very common in the province, despite this.

According to a police spokesman, an assistant sub-inspector from the Saddar Muridke police station had filed a case under the Child Marriage Act.
