Wasim Akram pokes fun at India’s Twenty20 World Cup team.

Wasim Akram, a legendary cricketer from Pakistan, made fun of the Indian T20 World Cup team, stating that they would not be able to claim fatigue as an excuse to win the competition.

Following the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final, in which not a single member of the Indian World Cup squad played, Akram made these remarks.

Laughing, Akram said, “At least this time, Indian players won’t say they’re tired,” in an interview with Sportskeeda Cricket. They were planning ahead and gave the nation more importance than the IPL championship.” He continued, “It could be a blessing in disguise for India.”

Given their busy IPL schedule, Akram had previously voiced concerns over the Indian team’s weariness. But Akram thinks that after the initial group of players, which includes captain Rohit Sharma, departs for the USA on Saturday, they’ll play.
