GUJRAT: The Student Society Readers’ Club and Quaid-e-Azam Library at the University of Gujrat (UoG) sponsored a special literary session on Monday at its Hafiz Hayat Campus titled “Mumtaz Mufti through the lens of Uxi Mufti” to mark the beginning of Book Week.
Renowned novelist and writer Uxi Mufti was the honored guest, offering a deep insight into the life and works of the renowned Mumtaz Mufti, an Urdu writer of legend.
Dr. Rukhsana Riaz, the session’s coordinator, welcomed notable attendees, including Chief Librarian Dr. Zaki-uz-Zaman, Director of Media Sheikh Abdul Rashid, and Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Zahid Yousuf.
The spirit of Mumtaz Mufti’s daring writing, which first fearlessly revealed social truths and then embraced spirituality, was encapsulated in Uxi Mufti’s ode to his father.
Urdu literature’s storytelling is still influenced by the profound and straightforward writings of Mumtaz Mufti. Sheikh Abdul Rashid praised him for his distinctive fusion of psychological insight and reality, highlighting the importance of literature in helping us understand the mysteries of life.
The occasion also emphasized the goal of the Readers’ Club, which is to encourage pupils to embrace reading, using Mumtaz Mufti’s eminent influence in Pakistani literature as an inspiration.
