According to police, a number of Netherlands supporters attacked and tried to steal flags from England supporters in bars.
The bulk of Netherlands fans, according to them, were there to “enjoy the game,” but some fan bases were judged to pose a “risk.”
In preparation for the match, which England won 2-1, UK police were in Germany assisting local law enforcement.
Social media users have posted a video purporting to depict a gathering of supporters hurling chairs at a bar, with one man clearly wearing a Dutch football shirt.
Then, before more fighting, people are seen moving inside and covering themselves.
A man called Leo, who works at the bar, told the news: “At first it was two or three people. I tried to separate them but then it got too heated and everything flew around.
“It’s really upsetting.”
Leo added that the bar’s TV was damaged in the incident so they were unable to show the game.
A statement from the UK Football Policing Unit read: “We are aware of some reports and videos circulating of disorder in Dortmund.
“It appears that there have been several instances of Dutch fans attacking England fans in bars and attempting to steal flags.
