KARACHI: For the next 24 hours, the port city is expected to see partly cloudy skies and strong winds, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
While partly overcast conditions are predicted to prevail today (Thursday), the PMD also mentioned that Karachi residents may be able to anticipate light rain or drizzle in the evening or at night.
The Met Office’s forecast is that today’s maximum temperature will be between 34°C and 36°C with a humidity of 79%.
Concurrently, the lowest recorded temperature over the previous 24 hours was 30.5°C.
Furthermore, the meteorological department disclosed that the pleasant sea breezes had made their way back to Sindh, the provincial capital.
Karachiites had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of monsoon rains for the past few weeks, hoping for some relief from the intense heat wave that has befallen the whole city.
Though the city has recently seen a minor decrease in temperature as a result of heavy rainfall earlier this week, locals have not yet noticed a noticeable break in the heat.
