Temporary Just before the end of the winter break for schools, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi made a significant statement on Monday.
On January 10, students will return to their academic institutions.
However, they will not be attending school as normal at 8 a.m.
“Schools will resume on January 10, 2024, due to the ongoing winter wave,” the CM said in a statement on X.
“Schools will begin at 9:30 am on January 10 and run until January 22. Wearing coats and thick clothing is very recommended,” the chief minister continued.
In many areas of the province, the temperature drops during this time of year, and there is also haze.
Due to the continued cold weather, public and private educational institutions’ winter breaks were extended by the Punjab School Education Department last week till January 9.
Previously, Punjab’s schools would have their yearly winter break from December 18, 2023, until January 1, 2024.
While this is going on, the Sindh education department has announced that schools will open at 9 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m., as they had last week. In Karachi, however, classes will begin at 8:30 a.m.
