Senior representatives of the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) met with Swedish agricultural specialist Dr. Mo Segad at their offices. Dr. Segad received an update on the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC)-administered GPI sectors, such as tourism, livestock, and agriculture, during the meeting.
The Land Information and Management System’s ongoing projects were also discussed in the briefing. With a goal of cultivating approximately 4 million acres in the upcoming years, GPI is a major player in the process of bringing the desolate Cholistan Desert under agriculture.
Dr. Segad indicated interest in collaborating with GPI on research and development projects aimed at advancing agriculture, citing his admiration for Pakistan’s agricultural industry. GPI is dedicated to developing Pakistani agriculture with the goal of conserving resources and ensuring food security with the application of contemporary technology.
