The security services of Pakistan have carried out widespread anti-drug operations throughout the nation, leading to notable arrests and seizures. 1,612 drug dealers have been arrested and 1,043 metric tons of different narcotics have been seized by authorities since September 2023.
45.18 metric tons of hashish and 3.52 metric tons of heroin have been extracted from the operations. 9.82 metric tons of various drugs, 8.55 metric tons of opium, and 3.65 metric tons of meth were also taken by security forces.
Seizures occurred during a recent operation that took place from June 30 to July 7 in several regions:
1,094 kilograms in Balochistan and 133 kg in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
- 5 kg in Gilgit-Baltistan
- Punjab: Two kilograms
- Sindh: 73 pounds
This crackdown was started by Pakistan’s military leadership and administration as a means of fighting drug addiction. Relevant organizations are steadfast in their resolve to keep up their efforts to ompletely eradicate narcotics from the country.
