QUETTA/MASTUNG: Today marked the third day of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) sit-in on the National Highway. The protesters were invited for negotiations by the Balochistani government.
When the protestor convoys were prevented from attending the BYC meeting in Gwadar last week, the sit-in got underway.
Fourteen individuals were hurt as Mastung protesters, who were traveling to the seaside city to attend the BYC convention, were scattered.
The National Highway closure has impacted traffic heading towards Karachi, Khuzdar, Hub, Kalat, Surab, Turbat, Panjkur, and Gwadar.
Additionally, all routes, including the Makran Coastal Highway M8, have been closed, causing problems for commuters due to the fact that both passenger cars and freight trucks have become stopped in various locations.
The demonstrators have called for the return of missing people and the abolition of resource seizure. Additionally, they have demanded that all funds be allocated toward improving the lives of Balochistani citizens.
