ISLAMABAD Raoof Hasan, the information secretary for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was placed on judicial detention for 14 days on Saturday by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the federal capital in connection with a terrorism-related case.
In response to a statement made by PTI International Media Coordinator Ahmed Janjua, who asserted that the former had handed the latter money to encourage terror, the PTI information secretary was taken into custody on July 31.
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra of the ATC denied the plea asking for a seven-day physical remand of Hasan.
Attorney Ali Bukhari for the PTI leader showed up in court and made his case. For his client, he also submitted a post-arrest bond. On August 6, the court sent notices regarding it.Bukhari stated that he wished to bring to the court’s attention the previous hearing’s ruling that Hasan’s bank account details may also be viewed online.
According to the judge, he ought to have challenged the ruling in the high court rather than the ATC. He also wanted to know if the PTI leader’s call logs, bank transfer, and meeting minutes were acquired.
