Speaking at the event, the prime minister announced that, in order to protect the nation from the damaging effects of climate change that will severely affect it in 2022, he had ordered the relevant departments and institutions to plant at least 100 million saplings throughout the nation, including in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K). He claimed that planting trees will also contribute to a decrease in air pollution.
In order to transform Pakistan into a clean, green nation, the prime minister gave the pertinent federal and provincial government officials instructions to carry out their part of the plantation push nationwide.
Additionally, he urged every Pakistani citizen to assist the government by actively taking part in the plantation campaign, which aims to prevent climate change-related calamities and offer a healthy environment.
