According to sources who spoke with Geo News on Friday, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the two main coalition partners in the federal government, have decided to replace the governor of Sindh.
According to the sources, the governor’s position would probably change in the next few days. They also mentioned that earlier today, the PML-N leadership spoke with the PPP’s top leaders about the governor’s position change.
They predicted that former head of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and PML-N leader Bashir Memon will unseat current governor Kamran Tessori.
Tessori took the oath of office on October 10, 2022, while Memon was named the PML-N Sindh president on November 7, 2023.In response to the reports, a MQM-P official stated that there was no conversation going on at this time about the governor’s change.
The party official continued, “In this regard, Centre has not contacted us yet.”
