Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political and Public Affairs, stated on Sunday that the Supreme Court’s duty was to administer justice in line with the Constitution, not to make speeches.
Sanaullah stated on the Geo News chat program Naya Pakistan that “the judiciary’s role is to implement the Constitution and laws enacted by Parliament, instead of engaging in personal interpretations.”
His comments follow those of senior puisne Judge Mansoor Ali Shah, who stated the previous day that the SC rulings cannot be ignored or postponed without risking the disruption of the legal system as a whole.
“Making laws is the responsibility of Parliament, while the judiciary’s job is to make decisions according to the Constitution and laws,” said the adviser to the minister.
