The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the federal government were ordered by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday to provide their responses on the sporadic internet outages that are bothering internet users around the nation.
Judge Shakil Ahmad of the LHC rendered a reserved decision today during the hearing of a petition against the countrywide internet “shutdown” submitted by citizen Noman Sarwar.
Judge Ahmad commanded all parties involved in the case to make sure their representatives show up and turn in their responses by August 21 for the case’s next hearing.
This event occurs at a time when millions of people nationwide are still having problems getting internet services because of poor connectivity, especially in areas where using mobile data is restricted.
