Following the arrest of former spymaster Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid, the Federal Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, has stated that as the investigation’s purview broadens, more big fish would be caught.
Earlier this week, the military declared that the former head of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had been arrested by the army on suspicion of stealing valuables and snatching land from a private housing society’s owner. A Field General Court Martial procedure has been started against him.
Following Faiz’s arrest, three more retired officers were placed into military custody, the army’s media wing announced on Thursday.
Today (Saturday), Tarar remarked at a press briefing in Islamabad that the military has a system in place for self-accountability and that recent arrests have been made.
