The 10-year-old Belgian malinois should be slaughtered and buried next to Delon, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 88.
According to the French animal charity Fondation Brigitte Bardot, Loubo will be looked after by family members, as confirmed by Delon’s family, who also claimed, “He has a home and a family.”
“The life of an animal should not be conditioned to that of a human,” the French counterpart of the RSPCA added as they offered to take in his dog as well.
Delon had previously informed media organizations that he had constructed a dog graveyard in his backyard that included the bones of at least 35 animals.
Delon gained notoriety for his parts in movies including Le Samourai (1967), The Leopard (1963), and Purple Noon (1960).
The actor had had a stroke five years prior, and since then, his health has declined. At the Cannes Film Festival in May 2019, he accepted an honorary Palme d’Or, marking his final significant public appearance.
