KARACHI: As Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah refused to follow the Punjab government’s lead and labeled the proposal to provide people in Sindh with a minimum 14% power bill subsidy as a “temporary measure” and a waste of public funds, hopes for relief from high electricity bills were dashed on Tuesday.
To alleviate the masses, the chief minister promised to take some “solid and durable actions.”
The chief minister’s opinion was expressed just hours after Governor Kamran Tessori publicly wrote to him, “pleading” with him to take into account the Rs14 per unit alleviation for Sindh’s energy users.
When Governor House released the letter from Governor Tessori requesting relief, the people of Sindh watched two events in a row.
