Men all throughout India have fallen prey to the “All India Pregnant Job Service,” a novel internet scam that promises rich rewards for getting women pregnant.
Several people have previously been duped by this scammer; one victim, Mangesh Kumar, has shared his terrifying experience.
Mangesh saw a video on Facebook and became a victim of the fraud, drawn in by the promise of easy money. The con artists took advantage of men who were looking for financial gain by promising large payouts in exchange for taking part in what seemed like a ridiculous job. A large payment and a night in a hotel with a childless woman were part of the promise.
The scope of the fraud was disclosed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Kalyan Anand, who claimed that hundreds of people had fallen for this sophisticated ruse. Nonetheless, a lot of victims keep quiet, often out of embarrassment.
Mangesh, 33, who makes a poor living, lost 16,000 rupees to the con artists. He was forced to pay court paperwork, safety deposits, and Goods and Services Tax (GST) by con artists claiming to be representatives of a Mumbai-based company. A misleading “pregnancy verification form” and an official-looking “Baby Birth Agreement” were among the fictitious documents.
