On 12 Rabi Awal, the Lahore High Court formally proclaimed all courts to be closed. Chief Justice Alia Neelum gave her assent for the notification, which was then sent by the Registrar.
According to the notification, on September 17, 2024, all civil and session courts in the province—including the Lahore High Court—will remain closed.
The purpose of this festival is to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on Eid-i-Miladun Nabi.
The choice was made in response to the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee’s September 4, 2024, notification that the Rabiul Awwal moon could not be seen.
As a result, September 6 is the start of the Islamic month of Rabiul Awwal, and September 17 is the day of Eid-i-Miladun Nabi.
