Over the next three years, Visa intends to increase the number of companies in Pakistan that accept digital payments by a factor of ten.
As stated by Visa’s general manager for Pakistan, North Africa, and the Levant, Leila Serhan. This statement is made in conjunction with Visa’s new strategic alliance with 1Link, the biggest payment service provider in Pakistan, which aims to advance digital transactions and streamline remittance procedures in the nation.
Pakistan, home to 240 million people, has one of the highest rates of unbanked people worldwide. According to estimates from the central bank, only 83 million out of the 137 million individuals in the nation have a bank account as of right now.
Visa is spending money building the infrastructure for digital payments in order to lower the cost and increase accessibility to digital transactions.
