Through a strict anti-electricity theft campaign, the government’s efforts to alleviate the electrical issue and revitalize the national economy are beginning to bear fruit. Recent reports state that police have apprehended around 84,520 people who were involved in electricity theft nationwide and recovered 113.62 billion rupees.
Over 1.56 billion rupees were retrieved by competent agencies from power thieves in major cities such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and others between September 1 and September 9. For stealing electricity, 102 people were taken into custody during this time.
The government and military leadership are supporting the program, which aims to end electricity theft nationally. The authorities have stated that they intend to keep up these efforts until the problem is completely remedied.
