According to Prince Khalid bin Bandar al Saud, “renewed efforts” to end the conflict in areas like Gaza are necessary because the situation on the ground is only growing worse. This was stated on News’s The World with Yalda Hakim.
When asked about his response to the conflict, he remarked, “I’d like to say I was optimistic, but it is difficult to see where that optimism would come from.”
“On the ground, things are becoming worse and worse… Since 1973, this is, I believe, the closest we’ve gone to a regional conflict.”
According to Mr. al Saud, both Israelis and Palestinians must make every effort to stop the situation from getting worse.
His prudence follows the announcement by Israel’s defense minister of a “new phase” in the conflict, in which forces will advance to the nation’s northern border, where they have been engaging in cross-border firefights with Hezbollah for months.
Numerous members of the Lebanese terrorist group have perished in the last two days as a result of pagers and handheld radios going off.
Although Israel has not officially acknowledged or denied any role in the assaults, many, including the UN secretary general, believe this could be a prelude to a more significant assault.
