Analysts predict that Apple’s biggest hurdle when it releases the new iPhones on Tuesday will be to weather another lackluster launch, as competitors have already surpassed it in integrating AI into their goods and services.
The rumored “iPhone Air,” a phone thinner than anything Apple has previously marketed and named after the company’s thin notebook MacBook Air, may be the biggest lure this year.
Analysts predicted that in order to draw in a lot of buyers, Apple would need to figure out how to fit cameras and batteries into a slimmer device and aim to price it between the entry-level iPhone 17 models and the more costly Pro models.
A thinner iPhone might encourage upgrades, according to Dipanjan Chatterjee, vice president and lead analyst at Forrester.
