LONDON: Thousands of anti-Donald Trump demonstrators gathered in downtown London on Wednesday to protest the US president’s historic second state visit to the UK, brandishing placards and yelling slogans.
An estimated 5,000 people attended the demonstration, which ended with a rally in front of parliament, according to London’s Metropolitan Police.
On the first full day of the trip, protesters marched in the center of the British city to show their hatred for Trump, who was being treated like a king or queen at Windsor Castle, about 22 miles (35 kilometers) west of London.
“I guess we’re protesting about everything related to Donald Trump. Former teacher Dave Lockett once said, “There are so many things to dislike that you really don’t know what placard to carry.”
