ISLAMABAD Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, stated Tuesday that Pakistan’s leadership will determine whether to send troops to a planned peace force for Palestine. He reiterated that the nation’s position on the matter has not changed and that its policy is still clear.
Speaking at a press conference, the foreign minister justified the nation’s choice to support US President Donald Trump’s peace proposal for Gaza, stating that local law enforcement will be mostly responsible for ground operations in Palestine.
According to him, “Indonesia has offered 20,000 personnel for the peace force,” and the leadership of Pakistan will also make a decision on the matter.
“I have no doubt that Pakistan will likewise make a decision; it will be decided by the leadership.
