There are no scientific facts to back up the claims of the country’s possibly coldest winter this year, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
In addition, the Met Office predicts lower-than-normal rainfall in the months ahead.
The PMD explained: “There is little chance of a very cold winter, but the country can anticipate some winter waves of moderate severity because of the western wind. The nation anticipates less precipitation between December and February this year. The earlier predictions of an exceptionally cold winter are addressed and contrasted in this clarification.
According to the Met Office, there is no scientific proof that Pakistan will experience extremely cold temperatures.
