ISLAMABAD: Ahead of the likely Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demonstration in the capital, the Islamabad government on Monday enforced Section 144 for a period of two months.

Additional District Magistrate Usman Ashraf issued a notification stating that all public meetings with five or more individuals, processions, rallies, and demonstrations are prohibited.

According to the authorities, the decision was made in light of the existing state of law and order, citing worries about possible illegal gatherings, disturbances of public order, and the security situation.

Concerns regarding planned religious and other protests in the nation’s capital are particularly mentioned in the directive, according to the notification.

Gatherings are forbidden in all public areas within Islamabad’s revenue limits, including the Red Zone.
