The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led (PML-N) leaders have called the demands of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) “unacceptable” and urged the party to apologize for the violent protests on May 9 if it wants things to move forward. The PTI is planning a “do-or-die” protest in Islamabad on November 24.
The former ruling party has staged several rallies in the federal capital and has been involved in a political battle with the ruling coalition for months. The former party claims that the alliance gained power through manipulated votes on February 8.
Imprisoned party founder Imran Khan this week called for a “final” statewide demonstration against the alleged rigging of the February 8 elections, the arrest of party workers, and the passage of the judiciary-centric 26th Amendment, continuing what PTI refers to as “a struggle.”
