RAWALPINDI: Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, was the subject of a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by an accountability court on Friday in the £190 million settlement case, also known as the Al-Qadir Trust case.
The former first lady’s detention was ordered by trial court judge Nasir Javed Rana because she had been absent from the case’s proceedings for at least eight hearings. Bushra was ordered by the judge to be taken into custody and brought before the court on November 26.
Bushra’s bail guarantor was also given a show-cause notice by the court.
A lawyer requested that Bushra be excused from today’s proceedings due to a medical condition, and the PTI founder, who is now detained in Adiala prison, was placed before the court during the hearing.
