According to the FBI, bomb threats have been made against a number of Donald Trump’s cabinet candidates and appointees for his new administration.
It claimed to be aware of “swatting incidents” and “numerous bomb threats,” which are prank calls intended to induce the police to respond to the target’s residence.
Trump’s nominee for US ambassador to the UN, Elise Stefanik, a Republican from New York, was the first to claim that a bomb threat had been made against her family’s house.
The incidents occurred on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, and police are looking into them.
Trump’s transition team spokesperson Karoline Leavitt claimed that “law enforcement acted quickly to ensure” the safety of a number of individuals who had been targeted.
