RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founding head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was detained in seven fresh instances connected to the party’s recent protests.
Following the conclusion of a six-day physical remand in a different case concerning the PTI’s September 28 rally in the garrison town, the former prime minister was brought before an anti-terrorism court judge at Adiala jail, where he has been detained for months.
In the physical remand, the prosecution team did not request an extension. Khan is accused in the charge filed at the New Town police station of calling the protest, which sparked violent events in Rawalpindi.
The former premier in the latest proceedings, which relate to the more recent PTI protests in October, was arrested by the Pindi police during the hearing.
