ISLAMABAD According to News on Thursday, the federal government intended to eliminate the sales tax exemption under the Finance Bill 2024–25’s sixth schedule on supplies to nonprofit hospitals.
Details indicate that the federal government’s proposed Finance Bill removed entry number 166 of the Sixth Schedule of S.T.A. 1990 and imposed an 18% sales tax on goods to the social healthcare industry.
All supplies to charitable hospitals with 50 beds or more are subject to this new tax policy, and welfare hospitals with 200 beds or more that are used for teaching must pay 18% of sales tax.
