New start in music
Cara Delevingne, known globally as a model and actress, has stepped into music with two debut songs titled I Forgot and Out of My Head. She says both tracks come from her personal experiences with sobriety and mental health challenges.
The 33 year old has appeared in major projects like Suicide Squad and Only Murders in the Building, but now she is focusing on expressing herself through music.
Songs shaped by recovery and emotions
Delevingne explained that Out of My Head reflects her early days after getting sober. She described it as a time filled with internal struggle, emotional confusion, and feeling disconnected.
She said the idea behind the track is about clearing mental noise and dealing with overthinking on a daily basis.
Her second song, I Forgot, focuses on mental health in a broader way. She wanted it to show how overwhelming emotions can feel and how difficult it is to cope at times.
A way to release anger and feelings
Delevingne shared that she wanted music that allows her to express emotions freely. She said she was never comfortable dealing with anger and now uses music as a healthy outlet.
She also explained that the goal was to create something people could connect with when they feel overwhelmed or misunderstood.
Personal growth and honesty
The artist has previously spoken about dealing with depression and emotional disconnection. She has also been open about addiction and how structured recovery support helped her.
She said that in the past she often used humor and self deprecating behavior, but music pushed her to be more honest about who she is.
Delevingne added that she wanted listeners to see her as a real person with flaws and feelings, not just a public image.
Visual storytelling in her music
Both songs are paired with a seven minute cinematic video directed by Jessica Lee Gagné, who has worked on the psychological series Severance. The visuals aim to match the emotional tone of the music and highlight the themes of inner struggle and release.
