After first stating he would debate the Democratic nominee, the former president has been vacillating on the matter. On Monday, he questioned, “Why am I doing it?” during a campaign visit.
But on Tuesday, Mr. Trump claimed to have come to an “agreement with the Radical Left Democrats” on a debate with “Comrade Kamala Harris” on News in a post on Truth Social.
He went on, ostensibly confirming that the candidates’ microphones would be muted, “The rules will be the same as the last debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden.”
The former president asserted that Ms. Harris would not consent to a third debate on News, adding that “the Radical Left has not agreed to another possible debate on News,” and that “that date will be held open in case she changes her mind.”
