ISLAMABAD Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Gohar Ali Khan claimed on Sunday that members of his party in the legislature were being pressured to change their allegiance and that he was seeking the Supreme Court’s intervention to settle the issue, according to The News.
In an interview with the media, Gohar denounced the “abduction” of PTI leaders and their relatives, including MNA Sahibzada Ameer Sultan, Rizwan Malik of the PTI media wing, the son and brother of Mian Fayyaz Ahmad Chajra, Mian Tajamal Hussain and Mian Imtiaz Hussain, and other social media activists.
This time, MNAs Atif Khan and Sheikh Waqas, as well as PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan, flanked the PTI chairman.
The PTI leadership, aware of the harassment and kidnapping of PTI members, appealed the Supreme Court to guarantee the enforcement of its landmark ruling regarding the reserved seats.
The PTI president demanded the immediate release of Bushra Bibi, the wife of the party founder, and PTI supporter Sanam Javed, as well as the freedom of all other party detainees. He also criticized the government for re-arresting Javed.
He asserted that, given that his wife had nothing to do with the Toshakhana issue, Bushra Bibi’s latest arrest was solely intended to “break” former prime minister Imran Khan.
