The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has requested explanation from the federal government over an application to halt Imran Khan, the former prime minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), from being potentially arrested and tried by the military.
During the hearing, Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb examined the objections made in a plea to stop Imran Khan from being tried in a military court. The court also rejected the arguments and asked the attorney general’s office to provide an official answer.
“You’re saying that there is no case yet, but there may be one?” The judge questioned Imran Khan’s attorney, and Uzair Bhandari responded that they were worried about it.
