Iran Hormuz Strait Talks
Iran claims to be in talks with Oman to get to “an understanding” over a temporary route across the Strait of Hormuz so that commercial shipping may restart.
The announcement followed US President Donald Trump’s announcement that fresh negotiations to end the conflict in Iran will start on Monday and that he had canceled “massive” strikes on the nation for that reason.
Trump did not say who will participate in the negotiations.
Iran, on the other hand. They said that it has no intention of engaging in negotiations with the United States.
The US president seems to have been offended by Tehran’s denial, as he subsequently described Iran’s government as “unbelievably duplicitous” on his Truth Social media site.

Global Oil Prices Drop
Global oil prices fell in Asian trading on Monday morning after Trump’s remarks.
Brent Crude oil was down 4.5% at $83.98 (£62.26), while US-traded oil was down 4.6% at $80.74 (£59.85).
Energy prices have fluctuated since the crisis started on February 28 as traders reacted to disruptions in shipping across the Strait of Hormuz.
About 20% of the world’s LNG and crude oil are normally transported over the strait.
This is an almost 28% drop from the previous four days, when 71 crossings via the strait were recorded.
Trump Pressures Iran Talks
Trump and the White House have frequently accused Iran of saying one thing in secret and another in public. But it is unknown what conversations may or may not be taking place behind closed doors.
The US president said that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran refused to participate in peace negotiations back on April 7.
Vice-President JD Vance conducted historic face-to-face negotiations in Pakistan as a result of that threat.
