KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced on Sunday that the city is expected to see drizzle and light rain in the later part of the day today, in contrast to its prognosis of a rise in temperature one day earlier.
According to the Met Office, Sindh, including the city, would experience a new monsoon spell starting on July 18 or 19.
The nation’s financial center saw some sporadic rain earlier this week, but the locals haven’t gotten much relief from the heat and have been oppressively hot lately.
The maximum temperature is predicted to stay in the range of 34°C to 36°C due to the 18 km/h sea wind that is blowing through the city.
In the meantime, 30.5°C was the lowest temperature ever recorded in the city.
