RAWALPINDI: It was revealed on Thursday that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife Bushra Bibi will be charged in the new Toshakhana reference on October 2.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was prohibited from pursuing the case, and the case was transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in accordance with the Supreme Court’s decision reinstating amendments to the anti-corruption laws. As a result, the new Toshakhana reference began proceedings last week.
The ousted prime minister has been behind bars for nearly a year after being found guilty in four separate cases: the Iddat case, which also involves his wife’s incarceration, the cipher case, and two Toshakhana references.
Shortly after the NAB apprehended the couple, the fresh Toshakhana referral against them became public.
