The PCCA spokesperson stated in a statement released here that the e-gates will allow for quick clearance in line with international norms.
The Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Islamabad International Airport, and Jinnah International Airport in Karachi will host the e-gates initially, according to the spokesman.
According to the PCCA, travelers would scan their passports at e-gates, and the facility’s goals are to shorten wait times and improve traveler satisfaction overall.
The PCAA set a deadline of August 13 for technology companies to submit bids for the installation of the upgraded gates.
An official from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) team said they were happy with the security setups at the airports in Islamabad and Karachi.
