LONDON: Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, declared that individuals who attacked the Pakistan Army on May 9 of last year were not deserving of forgiveness because they had committed crimes against the country.
After attending the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, the prime minister was addressing to Pakistani media in London. He flew into London on Saturday night and is scheduled to leave for Pakistan on Monday.
He pointed to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as the organization behind the social media campaign against the military leadership, which includes Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. In addition to highlighting the PTI’s drastic measures to harm Pakistan, he used the offensive and disparaging campaign as an example of cyberterrorism.
