During committee-level discussions on Friday to discuss budget difficulties, coalition partners Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) voiced their complaints, according to sources cited by Geo News.
According to the sources, the PML-N gave the PPP guarantees that all of their concerns would be addressed, whether they had to do with the Punjab government or the Budget 2024–25.
After PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the two parties decided to form committees to tackle the issue, and the senior leaders of the two parties convened in the federal capital.
Sources close to the meeting claimed that Bilawal expressed concerns about the federal government’s “non-seriousness” about several projects in Sindh.
The PML-N expressed dissatisfaction at PPP raising its concerns at the time of the budget announcement during the committee-level discussions.
“The PPP created a problem out of the flood fund during the budget even during the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government,” the PML-N leaders declared.
The sources claimed that throughout the budget preparation process, the PML-N members took senior party leaders and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah into confidence regarding the key issues.
“After the budget was presented, the party complained in spite of these [briefings]. This was not the right moment. In addition, the PPP declined multiple invitations to join the cabinet in Punjab and the Central region.
