ISLAMABAD: The district administration of Islamabad has decided to keep all public and private educational institutions closed on Thursday due to planned protests.
Even though the Imran Khan-founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had its non-objection certificate (NOC) revoked, the party has stated that it will have a jalsa in the federal capital today, Thursday.
The interior ministry stated in a statement that the choice was made to guarantee the security of the students in the nation’s capital.
PTI Islamabad President Amir Mughal said in a statement on Wednesday that although the district administration has canceled the notification, “we haven’t cancelled the jalsa.” “We have the constitutional and legal right to engage in peaceful political struggle.”
