RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) requested permission to organize a rally on September 28 in an application that was filed to the Rawalpindi administration on Tuesday.
In a letter to the deputy commissioner that his office has received, the Imran Khan-founded party stated that it would like to host a public meeting at either Bhatta Chowk or Liaquat Bagh.
The statement that the erstwhile ruling party would have public events in Mianwali and Rawalpindi following their September 21 Lahore power show is what sparked the current drama. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa made the announcement.
The party, which has battled for months to organize public events but has been denied permission by authorities on the grounds of security and other concerns, recently succeeded in organizing demonstrations under stringent guidelines in the capitals of Punjab and the federal republic.
