Rana Sanaullah, the prime minister’s advisor on political and public affairs, will be elevated to the position of federal minister.
The appointment was authorized by President Asif Ali Zardari based on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recommendation.

A Karachi district court earlier on April 9 rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) appeal against senior politician Rana Sanaullah of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for allegedly threatening the founder of the party. The PTI Lawyers Forum Sindh President, Zahoor Mahsood, filed a plea, which was heard by the court.
Zahoor Mehsood was invited to come to the police station to record his statement over the phone, but he did not, according to the police, who told the court.
