According to an official statement, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to utilize drones to track criminal activity and their hiding places.
CM Murad presided over a law and order meeting on Thursday during which it was resolved to purchase 4,000 devices in order to E-tag narcotics and street offenders.
In order to stop narcotics and street crimes in the city’s hotspot areas, the CM made the decision to use GPS and geo-tagging.
He gave the provincial police head instructions to arm the police in the districts of Sukkur, Ghotki, Kashmore, and Shikarpur with 14 drones, which were purchased last month, so they could keep an eye on criminal activity and their hiding places.
“I know the police have made progress in controlling law and order, including street crime in the city and kidnapping for ransom in the Kutcha area, but we should take advantage of the latest technology in curbing the crime,” the chief minister stated, adding that he has already given the police enough money for equipment. The police have been working with Rangers and other law enforcement agencies to support them professionally.
