According to reports, a new student-run Christian club at a rural Florida elementary school was dissolved after an atheist group filed a lawsuit alleging the religious gathering was unconstitutional.
After learning that students at the district’s single elementary school had begun hosting a chapter meeting for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in January, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) sent a letter to Hamilton County Schools.
The Tallahassee Democrat originally reported on the letter from news, which made reference to a Facebook post from the North Central Florida FCA on January 27 that showed pupils at Hamilton County Elementary School seemingly getting together for a club meeting in a classroom.
The US Florida elementary school’s Christian club must close due to an atheist complaint.
